Business Coaching New Zealand franchisees go back to basics to build better businesses
There are some new kids on the block and they’re planning on taking New Zealand businesses by storm. Terry Sage, co-founder and director of Business Coaching New Zealand, has been making an impressive name for himself in Northland and now, with the help of his partner, Sonja Jelsma, they are launching their brain child to the nation by way of franchising.
Established in 2006, Business Coaching New Zealand is a 100% NZ owned and operated enterprise. As Terry says, ‘Our philosophy is that to know how to teach it, you have to have been there and done it.’ Terry’s own business education is not from years at university; rather, it is from real life experience spanning more than 30 years. He started when he was just 19, having dropped out of school and become a builder. His passion for adventure subsequently led him to start up a variety of businesses both in New Zealand and England. His clients attest to the fact that this hands-on experience has been a key factor in their success.
‘Business Coaching New Zealand is a company that will make your life easier and your business more successful. This is evidenced by the changes in our business and those others that I have seen them work with.’
Kevin O’Brien, O’Brien Life Insurance Brokers.
‘The advice Business Coaching New Zealand has given us is practical, useful and above all has led us to realise what true potential we have.’
Trevor Griffiths, Griffiths and Associates Project Management and Property Development.
‘Testimonials like that reinforce that we are in tune with the New Zealand business culture,’ says Terry. ‘We know our clients genuinely appreciate that we are not some overseas coaching organisation that has looked at New Zealand as just another market, then come over here and applied its generic coaching models. We know and understand the issues and opportunities of being a small to medium sized business in New Zealand, whether in the cities or the countryside. We have become successful through providing our clients with the benefits of practical experience, not theory from books. It’s these advantages, along with skills, techniques and systems that we have created and developed, that we are now ready to share with selected franchisees around the country.’
Searching For A Star
Business Coaching New Zealand is now seeking suitable franchisees throughout the country with long term opportunities for regional licensees in Auckland, Waikato, Wellington, upper South Island and lower South Island.
‘What will make someone stand out to us as a potential franchisee is having practical business knowledge, ‘Terry says. ‘Besides genuinely wanting to help others, they must also be experienced in running their own business – because only then can they empathise with their clients. Our coaching system works because it is simple. Business is not rocket science: it’s all about getting back to basics and making sure that the foundations are strong. That applies to all businesses, from the one-man-band upwards. Business Coaching New Zealand’s approach is about understanding certain principles and putting these into place in a way that is tailored to suit each client’s business.’
For a fee of just $26,000 +gst the new franchisee receives full training which will provide them with all the tools needed to become a successful coach. All the franchisee will need to provide is a laptop, cell phone and vehicle. Terry recommends having some capital to cover living expenses until the first few clients are on board.
‘Our marketing plan is tried and proven, and can be replicated anywhere in New Zealand,’ Terry says. ‘Like our coaching system, it’s based on common sense. Training is run at a pace to suit the individual franchisee and includes case study scenarios, meetings with current clients, learning how to sell themselves and converting a referral into a client. Once up and running, there is full support and ongoing training.
‘This is an opportunity to use your own experience to help other business people, to create a pleasurable lifestyle and enjoy an excellent return on a very reasonable investment. Contact me today to find out more.’
