New Zealand Home Loans offers internships to get new franchisees started

In recent years, the financial services sector has seen some shocking failures which have made customers more aware than ever of the need to use reliable providers. As the largest non-bank lender in the country, New Zealand Home Loans is now gearing up to meet that need.

Founded in 1996, the wholly New Zealand-owned company has 52 offices offering a unique financial service to the public. ‘Only three percent of Kiwis actually have financial goals, which is very poor compared with other countries.’ explains CEO Mark Collins. Mark has a long pedigree in finance, having completed seven years as an operations manager with Sovereign and a period in the UK outsourcing financial services.

‘At New Zealand Home Loans, we aim to help our clients keep a close control of their finances and leverage them accordingly. We don’t just lend people money; we help them to improve their financial circumstances. Brokers are usually hampered by the rates they offer, but we offer our clients a set of tools to fulfil their desires. Our specialised debt navigation software allows clients to manage their money efficiently and make their own decisions about how they use it. As we say, ‘It’s not the rate you pay; it’s the rate at which you pay it off that counts.

‘Since 1996, New Zealand Home Loans has helped over 40,000 families to achieve their financial goals. A quarter of those are now debt-free as a result – that’s quite an achievement. And a massive 93% of our 30,000 current clients also recommend us to others, which gives us huge credibility. There are a lot of people out there who need our services.’

To deliver those services, New Zealand Home Loans is now looking to recruit self-starters who aspire to own a successful business. ‘A background in financial services is not a must, but anyone with a sales background could do very well,’ says Mark. ‘We are fussy about who we accept but we offer fantastic training and a staged programme to help anyone get to where they want to be.

‘Unlike other franchises, you don’t spend a cent to get started. You join as an intern and, after passing a rigorous training programme, are then mentored by an existing franchisee. You start building a pool of clients so you can earn an income from day one, then, once you are ready, you can purchase that pool to form the base of your own New Zealand Home Loans business. It’s a proven path that has helped many franchisees to success and many clients to debt-free living. Give us a call and find out more.’
