Ceiling Master - Plenty of Work

Cleaning magic proves lucrative for Ceiling Master franchisees
John Chandler is a happy man - and a busy one. ‘If there is an economic downturn, I certainly haven't noticed it,' he says. ‘In fact, what I need is new people to handle all the work we're getting. For example, although I have one licensee in Auckland we're getting so many customer enquiries we need three more and a master licensee there.'
John's business is Ceiling Master, the specialist ceiling cleaning company which has six busy licensees around the country. ‘One of the reasons we're so busy is that cleaning ceilings is not a popular job,' he says. ‘Ceilings collect grease, dirt and grime, and even commercial cleaners aren't keen to take it on. But if you've got the right equipment and know-how, it's quite straightforward. That's why we are now getting big sub-contracts from commercial operators as well as our own work.'
With 27 years of experience, John knows what he is talking about. ‘There is nothing I haven't done, and probably no mistake I haven't made,' he laughs. ‘But as a result I can teach any licensee how to build a really worthwhile business.'
The other key to Ceiling Master's success is the spray system and special techniques used in cleaning. ‘There are no toxic chemicals, no dangerous acids,' says John, ‘yet we can wash away nicotine stains, gunge, fly-spots and worse. The customers think it's magic when they see the gleaming results.'
Clients include big commercial operators such as bakeries and restaurant kitchens, of course, but another major income source is the domestic market. ‘Estate agents regularly require "every surface" cleans between tenants, and that's hard work unless you know what you're doing,' John says. ‘The average job earns around $550 for a few hours work, so it's pretty lucrative for licensees.'
Given the demand, Ceiling Master is looking to expand in all areas. ‘I want independent, smart, 100% positive people who can think for themselves,' says John. ‘They must be able to build a good business that will provide the dedicated, quality service that is our byword. It's an ideal business for couples and for only $62,500+gst we will provide a sign-written van, a full week of training and all the marketing materials to get you started.
‘Best of all, there are no royalties to pay, just a monthly flat fee. And because you have a sole licence for your area, when the time comes to expand your business it's you that puts on an extra van - we don't sell your customer base out from under you. If that sounds like the right opportunity for you, don't delay, call me now. The work is waiting...'
