The facts about small business in New Zealand

Over 97 percent of enterprises in New Zealand have fewer than 20 employees. That would include not just most franchised businesses, but many franchisors, too. A recent infographic from Statistics New Zealand provides an insight.

Enterprises with fewer than 50 employees create nearly half of all jobs and contribute over a third
of New Zealand’s Gross Domestic Product. Other OECD countries have similar proportions of small enterprises.
