Description
Robert Harris Coffee Roasters operates New Zealand's best-known and largest chain of retail cafe franchises. Proven success in cities and provincial centres nationwide.
Notes
We look for team players with high standards in presentation who have customer service experience plus the ability to work with people.
In 1990 Cerebos Gregg's Ltd bought Robert Harris with the aim of taking this blue-chip brand to even greater heights. From humble backyard beginnings, there are now over 40 Robert Harris Coffee Roasters across the country, with an eventual goal of establishing 70 outlets.
One of them could be yours.
More about Cerebos Gregg's
Cerebos Gregg's is the franchisor for the Robert Harris Coffee Roasters chain.
Cerebos Gregg's owns many of the favourite food brands that New Zealanders have grown up with. Since acquiring Robert Harris Tea & Coffee in 1990, Cerebos Gregg's has sought to capitalise even further on the brand's immense popularity. With steady growth over the last decade Robert Harris is still the biggest chain of standalone franchised cafes. When you consider both the level of brand recognition and franchise popularity so far, there's no reason this growth cannot continue well into the next decade.
As a division of Cerebos Gregg's, Robert Harris Coffee Roasters have the guidance and support of one of this country's most successful organisations .
What kind of franchise am I buying into?
Robert Harris started selling coffee in Hamilton in the 1950’s and is regarded as one of the pioneers of coffee in New Zealand. He was one of the first to offer a choice of fresh coffee blends and the quest for coffee perfection has been a signature of Robert Harris for over 50 years.
So when you buy a Robert Harris Coffee Roasters franchise you don't just buy an outlet, you purchase a brand name that is renowned amongst coffee aficionados and the general public alike. Perhaps that's one of the reasons why Robert Harris Coffee Roasters are officially the largest café franchise chain in New Zealand.
Starting Up
As a Robert Harris Coffee Roasters franchisee you'll have the option to build a completely new café or take over an existing one. A design consultant is used to help plan the development of new and existing cafés, kiosks and espresso bars.
Our experienced designers have a talent for creating cafés that maximise both customer satisfaction and sales revenue. With their skills, and your enthusiasm, you could have your very own café up and running in a matter of weeks.
Support. Support. Support.
Starting your own business can be a daunting prospect, which is why Robert Harris Coffee Roasters franchisees are given extensive start-up and operational support. In fact, Robert Harris has a Franchise Support Team who are there to offer valuable guidance (and friendly reassurance) to new franchisees. Initially this takes the form of a business planning visit, during which time your consultant will sit down with you and map out some key business issues.
Your franchise will also be audited at least twice a year to identify any strengths or weaknesses in the business's operations. These audits give franchisees a "financial snapshot" of how their café is performing and is extremely useful in keeping the business properly managed.
Furthermore, there's the added reassurance in knowing your Franchise Support Team are there for you to contact on an ongoing basis, whenever the need arises.
Training
As a Robert Harris Coffee Roasters franchisee, much of your success will ultimately come down to your hard work and positive attitude. But to help you out along the way, we provide a team of support staff who can offer valuable training on customer service, as well as food and beverage preparation. Our techniques are so advanced that our Barista Training course is accredited with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.
With expert advice at your disposal, you'll also learn to tailor financial action plans to help you exploit strengths and opportunities in your local market.
Quality Products
In addition to brewing the country's finest coffee, Robert Harris Coffee Roasters are also famous for their simple, tasty food.
The focus has always been on top quality food - professionally prepared and displayed. As a franchisee you'll reap the benefits of selling cuisine that is as popular as it is delicious.
In addition to selling popular favourites like sandwiches, slices and sausage rolls, café menus are constantly changing in response to consumer tastes. New menu items are constantly being brought into our menus which open up new markets for our franchisees to explore.
Marketing Support
Strategic marketing campaigns and heavy promotional activity is used to generate awareness of the Robert Harris experience, which may explain its extremely high brand-recognition amongst café patrons.
As a franchisee, your small contribution to advertising and promotion can yield impressive returns - far more so than if you were to go into business alone.
